Prohibited & Restricted Items

For the safety of our drivers, customers, and the public, certain items cannot be transported using TheVanApp.

Important Notice

Attempting to transport prohibited items using TheVanApp is a serious breach of our Terms & Conditions and may result in immediate account suspension, legal action, and/or reporting to the relevant authorities. Drivers are instructed to refuse any booking where prohibited items are present.

Prohibited Items

Hazardous Materials

  • Explosives, fireworks, and ammunition
  • Flammable liquids (petrol, diesel, solvents)
  • Compressed gases (LPG cylinders, oxygen tanks)
  • Toxic or poisonous substances
  • Radioactive materials
  • Corrosive chemicals (acids, bleach in bulk)

Illegal Items

  • Illegal drugs and controlled substances
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Stolen property
  • Weapons (firearms, knives, etc.) without proper authorisation
  • Items subject to trade sanctions or embargoes

Live Animals & Perishables

  • Live animals of any kind
  • Perishable food without appropriate packaging and temperature control
  • Human remains or ashes (without prior written authorisation)
  • Medical waste or biohazardous materials

Oversized & Overweight Items

  • Items exceeding the van's stated weight capacity
  • Items that cannot be safely secured in the van
  • Items requiring specialist lifting equipment
  • Vehicles or machinery requiring flatbed transport

Restricted Items

Restricted Items (Require Prior Approval)

  • Antiques and high-value artwork (over €500)
  • Fragile items (glassware, mirrors, artwork) — must be properly packaged
  • Medical equipment — must be declared at booking
  • Large quantities of alcohol (commercial quantities)
  • Electrical items with damaged cables or components
